Questions
Do I need my client's consent to record?
Laws vary, and many places require the consent of everyone recorded. Consent is your responsibility, as are your other regulatory obligations. Lalela shows a clear recording indicator and makes pausing, stopping and deleting easy. When in doubt, tell your client you're taking notes and ask.
Does Lalela make my practice compliant?
No tool can do that for you. Lalela gives you complete, searchable notes of what was said; you turn them into your own documents with workflows and decide what to keep. Your compliance obligations stay with you.
Where does the client's audio go?
On the Mac, by default, nowhere: transcription runs on the device and the audio is discarded. Cloud transcription is optional (it's the default on iPhone): the audio goes to private storage, is transcribed, and is deleted straight after.
Is my clients' information used to train AI?
No. We never train on your content. With a local model, summaries never leave the Mac. The free AI allowance sends text to the model provider only to generate your answer.
What does it cost?
It's free to download and use. Recording, on-device transcription and search have no caps. Signing in adds a free monthly AI allowance for summaries and chat. No card needed.
